Commercial Pilot Certificate

Commercial Single Engine Land / Sea License

This is the rating that begins to separate the men from the boys. The bar is raised to force pilots to improve their skills in almost every maneuver. In addition, students learn new maneuvers like chandels and lazy eights. They also get the opportunity to spend a little time in a complex aircraft and will complete their checkride in this airplane. This rating is great for anyone that wants to get beyond the typical ground reference maneuvers and stalls. This rating is required for anyone that would like to have the opportunity to make money from a passion. In order to be compensated or “Fly for Hire” in any way for flying a pilot must begin by having a Commercial Pilots License. After receiving a Commercial License pilots may begin looking for a paying pilot job which will now only depend on their experience, professionalism, and flight time. At Airline Training Academy of Puget Sound we are fortunate to have a few possibilities for this rating. Commercial ratings are specific to the Category of aircraft the pilot does the FAA checkride in. Commercial Certificates are available for Commercial Single Engine Land (CSEL), Commercial Single Engine Sea (CSES), Commercial Multi Engine Land (CMEL), and Commercial Multi Engine Sea (CMES). At ATA we are one of the few flight schools to offer the first three of these four ratings. In addition, students are able to do their CSEL and CSES on the same checkride saving a very large amount of money. Living in the Puget Sound of Washington we just could not see doing this rating any other way. Upon completion of these two ratings our Beechcraft Barron is definitely the way to go for CMEL needs.
