This rating usually follows the Certified Flight Instructor Rating. This rating allows both new and experienced instructors to begin teaching students how to fly in instrument conditions. This is a great rating for Flight Instructors to have if the Airlines are in their future goals. Getting an Instrument Instructor rating and teaching people with it will ensure complete competence and maintenance of skills before obtaining that challenging entry level Airline position. It will also ensure your safety when teaching students how to keep the shinny side up without reference to the ground.
Teaching people to fly in conditions that exist in the Pacific Northwest create extraordinary instrument pilots. Not only for the amount of Actual Instrument time but for the amount of non precision approaches that will be done to finish the training. This is the best place to be completing any type of instrument training when comes to experiences.
At ATA of Puget Sound you will also be able to save money and increase abilities in our new Frasca Flight Training Device. This allows you to focus on approaches and view places were you are making mistakes on printouts. In the end your metal image of what we like to call the “Big Picture” will become more detailed and better understood.
Last but not least this rating will allow you to build your time and experience faster. You will be able to stop handing off all of those students that come through the door. It is never a good thing when another instructor gets the student that could have been yours because he has more ratings.
