Multi Engine Instructor (MEI)

If you have gone about your training in standard way then this rating is exciting because it is probably the last one that you will get that you have to pay for.  It is also exciting because if you are going to the airlines this is the one that will get you hired.  If you are doing this rating without the airlines in mind then you should know this rating make you a part of a very small select group.  No matter what your reasoning is this is a great rating.  You will use everything learned to date in order to complete this rating.

At ATA of Puget Sound we take this rating very seriously because the second engine can save your life or take you to the scene of an accident.  The Beechcraft Barron is and ideal aircraft for completing this rating because it is a true Multi Engine Airplane with a critical engine.  If you complete your training in this aircraft, feel confident you will be able to fly just about any light twin with very little additional training.

In this rating our instructors will not only teach you how to pass your checkride but we will give you ways of keeping yourself safe under all circumstances.  We will give you little pointers that are not usually required teaching.  These are techniques that may keep you from bending any metal or from taking runway excursions during your teaching.
